Children

You are welcome to bring your children of course but please bear in mind that 5 of the 7 bedrooms are upstairs and the property is not securely fenced so we accept no responsibility for any accidents or escapees, the side of the property beside the shops has quite a steep drop onto the service road should any child walk through the trees. Please also remember that because we are right by the action so to speak, it can be noisy at night especially Friday and Saturday nights and of course all the peak holiday season. We take no responsibly should this happen, you take the booking understanding this. The side of the house beside the other home is quieter but will still hear some noise.

We do have 2 portable cots and highchairs on the property for your use plus removable stair barriers if you wish to keep the little folk up or down. If you wish to use the cots please let us know when booking so we can add it to the list to leave the linen out for you. It will be packed away in the cupboard otherwise.

The front courtyard on the side of the shops is secure except the gate does not lock, it gives you privacy and a place to sit outside on the odd occasion the weather blows in from the beach.

Smoking

This is a non-smoking property, if you need to smoke please only do so outside and please remove all traces, please DO NOT throw cigarette butts over the balcony or into the garden or lawn or onto the roof from the top deck, please remember we collect rainwater from the roof.

Linen

All linen is supplied, including bath towels, you will just need to bring your own beach towels as the bath towels are not meant for beach use. The linen is high quality that we hire. Please do not wash it before you leave – the linen is returned to a commercial laundry for cleaning on your departure so just leave it on the beds and in the bathrooms. The cleaners will deal with it.

There are spare blankets in the wardrobes for the beds if you feel the cold.

TV and Internet

We have sky TV available at the house and complimentary Wi-Fi. You will be given the Wi-Fi code once we receive your final payment. Even if you have used the instant book and have paid in full we still do not give the codes out until 2 weeks prior to your stay.

Cleaning

Your stay includes a departure clean as well as the linen, however we do request if you can please leave the property in tidy condition and place dishes in the dishwasher and turn it on before you depart. Please put any surplus rubbish which does not fit in the bin in the Island pink or orange bags which will be in the draw under the bin on the4 bed side.

BBQ

We have supplied two BBQ’S for your use, please make sure you clean these after you have used them and leave them in tidy condition. They are hooked into the  large gas bottles on the side of the house so you don’t need to worry about the supply running out.

WATER

We are on tank water as is all the island so please conserve where possible,  Pete at Island Water keeps an eye on it for us so you should not run out during your stay

Septic System

Waiheke Island is on a septic tank system so please do not put any items down the toilet apart from toilet paper, there are rubbish bins provided in the bathrooms for your use should you require them, sanitary items, nappies, wipes, even if it says flushable because that info is for town supply and any other items which are not toilet paper please place in the bin.

Spiders Mosquitos etc.

Waiheke Island has an abundance of these little creatures, while we have done our best to keep them at bay you may wish to turn on the mosquito repellent plug in or use the fly spray provided, we keep a can or two under the sink in each kitchen.

Rubbish

Rubbish is collected on Tuesday morning unless It is the day after a long weekend it will be Wednesday, please place rubbish in the appropriate bins yellow lid for recycle and red for rubbish, please put the bin out on Monday evening if you are staying over Monday night as they can come early. Wheel the bin to the road side on the drive and leave it with the opening side facing the road. If the bins are full please use the pink or orange bags for Waiheke Island, there should be some of these in the draw under the bin on the 4 bed side. .

We like to leave you in peace for your stay so even if it is not all your rubbish could you please put the bin out otherwise we need to get someone to come onto the property while you are there which we try to avoid, if you prefer this though please let us know prior to your arrival so we can get it organised.
