Departure

Your nightly rate includes a departure clean, however, we do request that you place any used dishes in the dishwasher and set it going and pack away your rubbish.

DEPARTURE IS STRICTY AT 10AM unless a late departure has been arranged, we normally have the cleaners organised to come in soon after you leave so please assist us by leaving on time as often they only have a short time to prepare the place for the next guest.

Keys

On departure please lock the door and ensure that the keys are left in the lock box on each respective side of the house.

Linen

All linen is supplied, including bath towels. Please bring your own beach towels as the bath towels are not meant for beach use.

The linen is hired so please do not wash it. Leave it on the beds and in the bathrooms and the cleaners will replace it and arrange to take it to the laundry for cleaning and pressing.

Maintenance

We do our best to keep things up to scratch, please notify us if anything is not working properly even if it is a light bulb out so we can attend to it. However, things do break down just as they do in your own home, should this happen give us a call and we will do our best to get someone there to fix it for you.

There should be spare light bulbs and plugs on one of the shelves in the pantry and more spare bulbs in the cupboard by the entrance to the 4 bedroom side.

Rubbish Collection

Rubbish collection for this place is Tuesday so please if you are staying overnight can you place the wheelie bins on the road side with the opening side facing the road on Monday evening as the trucks come fairly early Tuesday. Red lid rubbish, blue lid recycle. There are ‘Throw’n’go’ rubbish receptacles located at each ferry terminal if you have more than fits in the bins. We recycle, plastics, glass, paper/cardboard.

Septic Tanks

Septic tanks service the island. Please do not dispose of any nappies or sanitary products through the toilet system it will block it up. There are bins provided for this.

Service Stations

BP service station in Tui Street, Oneroa. (open until 8.30pm Mon – Fri and Sat Sun until 7pm.) also Albert Crescent in Ostend. The Shell Service station on Onetangi Road is open until 10pm 7 days.

Supermarkets

Countdown is located in Ostend Road, a 10 Minute drive from Oneroa Village. It is open 7am to 9pm 7 days except Christmas Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday and ANZAC morning. Oneroa Butchery is open 6 days and located across the road from the info centre at Artworks. There is an excellent 4 square in Oneroa village also a few doors up from the house. It also has a lotto agency, it is open till 8pm 7 days.

Water

Please can we bring to your attention that all properties on Waiheke provide water by collecting rainwater in tanks. IT IS SAFE TO DRINK. We do not have a town supply at all on the island. During summer, in particular and when it hasn’t rained for a while, water can be in extremely short supply. Guests are respectfully asked to be extremely careful with water usage during their stay. You should have sufficient for your stay however if you have used an excessive amount and run out you may like to buy a load, if you wish to do so please call Pete at Island Water on 09 372 2325. Normally the wait is around 10 days in the summer for casual calls but because we are a regular customer they will normally fit us onto the run at short notice.
